TITLE

Estimation of the Pareto Distribution of the Second Kind Parameters Based on Picard’s Method

pdf PDF

ABSTRACT

Bayes’ method is the most applicable for estimating the distribution parameters in the literature. Thus, the main objective of this work is to introduce an optimal numerical iteration technique, such as Picard’s method. This method has been used to estimate the Pareto distribution of the second kind of parameters and compare it with Bayes’ method via a Monte Carlo simulation study. The simulation results indicated that Picard’s method is more efficient than the Bayes method based on the generalized progressive hybrid censored scheme. Numerical examples are given for illustration and comparison of the proposed methods.
