ABSTRACT A comment on the modeling and analysis of granular matter flows is presented in this paper. The relevant literature concerning the flow pattern determination particularly in loading/ unloading ( storing, mixing, feeding )processes of bulk solids in a variety industrial applications is referred with a historical treatment. A criticism on the state of art is provided in terms of available terminology , basic equations and methodology to determine the unknowns and/or discrepancies which need further research.1A devised experimental study to determine the influence of particle shapes of non-spherical / irregular fibrous platelets and porosity of the medium as a special granular matter flow through a gravity-driven silo discharge is outlined. |
