Modelling of Clearness Index and Total Solar Radiation with Some Important Climatological Independent Variables for Some Meteorological Stations in Nigeria

pdf PDF

ABSTRACT

Modelling of clearness index and total solar radiation with some important climatological independent variables have been well demonstrated. In previous studies, similar equations have been used to analyze the data for Calabar and Yola, the result of the analyses shows high correlations. In this study, we have proposed four new model equations, where we have used the equations to analyze the data for Bauchi, Calabar, Gusau, Ikom, Jos and Yola, the result shows excellent correlation for both yearly and seasonal fits. For yearly variation, high correlations, R a2 > 0.967 were obtained, Se <= 0.0088 except for Ikom which has Se = 0.0113, LPE <= 4% and AAPE <=1.2% for all the stations.
