PDFAbstract: A new barometric formula is proposed, applicable at large distances and free from a contradiction – the paradox with the acceleration of gravity vanishing at infinity. When compared with experimental data, an advantage was revealed for the case of a nonequilibrium equation of state corresponding to a Poisson ratio equal to 3.
