Aims and Scope
Aims and Scope
The International Journal of Power Systems is an open access journal. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for academicians, researchers and practitioners all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in all areas of Power and Energy Systems. Manuscripts are subject to a rigorous and fair peer-review process. Accepted papers will appear online within 3-4 weeks after their submission. The journal publishes papers including but not limited to the following topics:
Generation, transmission & distribution planning, Reliability and security, Dynamic transient stability and voltage stability, Electromagnetic transient evaluations, Insulation co-ordination, Transmission & distribution equipment, Generator Protection and Control, Parallel Operation of Generators Protection, Portable Power Systems, Corporate planning and management, Alternative energy systems, Environmental issues, Energy Management Systems Deregulation and Electric Power Market, Impacts of deregulation, Electricity pricing and transactions, Open access IPP and Co-generation, Power market, Reliability, Optimization Techniques, Electricity Demand Management, Load Management, FACTS and Custom Power Devices for Power Quality,Power Switching, Uninterrupted Power Supplies, Power Factor Compensation and Conditioning,Capacitor Switching Techniques, Education on Power and Energy Systems, Others...
Special Issues
Special Issues
1. Open Special Issues
At the moment we have no open Special Issue
2. Special Issue Guidelines: Every proposal for special issue must be sent to us and should include the following
The journal for which the Special Issue is intended
* A suggested title for the Special Issue
* Proposed Aims and Scope
* A list of Guest Editors who will join the Lead Guest Editor in managing the Special Issue, including their names, emails, affiliations, and a short biography (one paragraph) of each of the Guest Editors
* A proposed timeline and schedule which includes:
* Deadline for submission (6 months from the initial Call-for-Papers)
* First round of review (3 months after submission deadline)
* Tentative publication date (3 months after the first round of review)
All proposals are subject to approval by the journal following a discussion of the proposed Special Issue among the journals Editorial Board. If approved, a Call-for-Papers for the Special Issue will be issued and posted online.
Each proposal will be evaluated by three independent experts according to the following Criteria
* Relevance to the Journal
* Scientific - Technical Originality,
* Scientific content And advances beyond the State-Of-The-Art
* Potential Impact and tnterest for the readers
The Guest Editors cannot act as reviewers for the Special Issues manuscripts. This is to ensure a high-quality, fair, and unbiased peer-review process of every manuscript submitted to the journal, since any manuscript must be recommended by one or more (usually two or more) external reviewers and the Guest Editor before acceptance for publication.
The name of the Guest Editor recommending the manuscript for publication is published with the manuscript to indicate and acknowledge their invaluable contribution to the peer-review process and the indispensability of their contributions to the running of the journals.
The peer-review process is single blinded; that is, the reviewers know who the authors of the manuscript are, but the authors do not have access to the information of who the peer reviewers are. Every journal published by Hindawi has an acknowledgment page for the researchers who have performed the peer-review process for at least one manuscript in the past year. Without the significant contributions made by these researchers, the publication of the journal would not be possible.

Review Process
Review Process
IARAS sends each paper to 3 independent reviewers, experts in the area of the paper. So, each paper will be evaluated by three independent experts according to the following Criteria
1) Relevance to the Journal
2) Scientific - Technical Originality, Potential Impact and Interest for the audience
3) Scientific/Technical Content and Advances beyond The State-Of-The-Art
4) Quality of the Presentation, clarity of the Content
5) Comments for the authors
The reviewers are going to indicate their familiarity with the paper's subject, evaluate the paper along the aforementioned criteria. Finally, the Editor-in-Chief or a Member of the Editorial Board will decide whether a paper will be accepted or not.
Our Score System will classify the papers as follows
* Publish as it is
* Consider after Minor Changes
* Consider after Major Changes
* Reject
If the Editor recommends Publish as it is the manuscript will undergo a final check by the journals editorial office in order to ensure that the manuscript and its review process adhere to the journals guidelines and policies. Once this is done, the authors will be notified of the manuscripts acceptance, and the manuscript will appear in the Articles in Press section of the journals website.
If the Editor recommends Consider after Minor Changes, the authors are notified to prepare and submit a final copy of their manuscript with the required minor changes suggested by the reviewers. The Editor reviews the revised manuscript after the minor changes have been made by the authors. Once the Editor is satisfied with the final manuscript, the manuscript can be accepted.
If the Editor recommends Consider after Major Changes, the recommendation is communicated to the authors. The authors are expected to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the changes recommended by the reviewers and to submit their revised manuscript in a timely manner. Once the revised manuscript is submitted, the Editor can then make an editorial recommendation which can be Publish Unaltered, Consider after Minor Changes, or Reject.
If the Editor recommends rejecting the manuscript, the rejection is immediate. Also, if the majority of the reviewers recommend rejecting the manuscript, the rejection is immediate.
All journals published by IARAS are committed to publishing only original material, i.e., material that has neither been published elsewhere, nor is under review elsewhere. IARAS as a participant of CrossCheck uses the iThenticate software to detect instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts that are found to have been plagiarized from a manuscript by other authors, whether published or unpublished, will incur plagiarism sanctions.
