ABSTRACT

This paper proposes a detailed analysis of wind turbine equipped with direct drive permanent magnet synchronous generator with particular attention to the problem of the initialisation of fundamental frequency dynamic simulations in presence of active power losses. It is a common procedure to neglect power system losses when the dynamic system model is considered but these aspects can lead to a steady state that differs from the one of a model including losses.
